SARAH BECKETT

Sarah Beckett

 

Beckett began her painting life in Trinidad in the late sixties and has exhibited extensively, not only in Trinidad but also in Europe, the USA and the Far East.

 

Currently, Beckett is directing Alabaster Moon’ an Educative Documentary film, produced by Alex de Verteuil, which will be premiered at the T&T Film Festival in September. She is also compiling a book, (working title “Alabaster Moon”) about the arts and creative collaboration.

 

In 2007, with film editor Luke Paddington, she made a 60 minute art film ‘An Angel’s Wing’ for a multi-arts production showcased in Trinidad, Guyana and London.

 

In 2006, as part of a Trinidad Quartet Productions initiative, she designed an Educative Creative Outreach (ECO) programme for NGO’s in Trinidad & Tobago, which won a bpTT Soca Award for The Cotton Tree Foundation, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

 

In the UK in the 90’s she produced plays and multi art events for The Engine Room, a Studio Theatre Workshop, in collaboration with Hilary Drake actress, and the late George Byatt, playwright and founder of Theatre Pkf.

 

Beckett has designed for bands in the Notting Hill Gate Carnival and taught Fine Art at UWI. (Trinidad). At present she is running the bpTT funded Educative Creative Outreach programme for The Cotton Tree Foundation.
