KWYNN S. JOHNSON

Kwynn Johnson was born in Trinidad in 1974.
This year ( 2007) Kwynn Johnson participated in three group shows: Radical Designs – Jeans Art, Bat n Ball and The Bottom Line II. At Queen’s Hall, she designed the 10th Anniversary exhibition for the 3Canal Carnival show, the set design for the OliverMusical and was a Cacique nominee for Most Outstanding Set Design for the 2006 Fiddler on the Roof. Courtesy a film grant from the Trinidad Film Company, she shot, directed and edited a short film on bee-keeping, entitled The Keepers. This film was screened at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival at Movie Towne.
Kwynn holds a first class honors Degree in Visual Art, is a full time research officer at the Carnival Institute of Trinidad and Tobago, writes the weekly Art review in the Catholic Newspaper, and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Cultural Studies. Her fourth solo exhibition – Threading water over dead coral when you’re feeling blue, was shown in July at Soft Box Studiosin Trinidad, part of which was later exhibited in Texas.
