
Luise Kimme, born in Germany 1939, graduated Masterpupil for sculpture H.F.B.K. Berlin, 1955.Scholarships to England, taught sculpture part-time, Wolverhampton Polytechnic for 7 years, studio in London.
Taught 2 years RISD Providence Rhode Island, studio in N.Y.C. and University of Cal. until 1976, when she became full time Prof. of Foundation Studies at Düsseldorf Academy until she retired from teaching in 2002.
During semester breaks, she worked in Tobago under a tree from 1979, and built her studio and museum at Mt. Irvine in 1986. Eight dogs keep her company in her wonderful world.
Why did she come to Tobago? because she wanted to move far away from the demands of modern European art in order to develop the work she wanted to do.
