Melton Prior
1845-1910
Born in London.
War correspondent and artist. Worked for the Illustrated London Times. He served through 24 campaigns as war artist. His first appearance on a battlefield was in the Ashantee War 1873.
Later he covered many wars, in fact, from until 1886 there was only one year he did not see active service.
In 1876 he went to Athens with King Edward, he travelled with the King of Denmark's expedition to Iceland.
